MEET THE VETLAND ANIMAL HOSPITAL TEAM

Dr Peter Kirchner qualified as a veterinarian in 1992. In 1993 he opened up a mixed animal practice. Shortly thereafter transformed it into a small animal practice only - due to the rapid urbanization of the area. 

Dr Peter is the owner of the practice. 

He is fluent in German so please feel free to ‘Guten Tag’. 

Dr Sonel Snyman qualified as a veterinarian in 2015. She was part of the first group of veterinarians to complete a compulsory community service year.

She joined the Vetland team in January 2020. Dr Sonel loves more complicated medicine cases but also enjoy the various challenges being a general veterinary practitioner.

Dr. Mala graduated in 2023 from Onderstepoort and joined our team in early 2026. She shares, “I approach every case as a puzzle to be solved, with a healthy, happy patient and client as the ultimate reward. I can’t imagine myself in any other profession. As a cat person, I believe a purrr a day keeps the vet away."

Sr. Lune qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2017 after a "joyful" educational experience at Onderstepoort. Joining the Vetland team in 2023 " I love having the opportunity to ensure our clients feel at ease when they admit their pets, knowing they are in our good, save and caring hands until they are discharged".

Sr. Marli graduated from Onderstepoort in 2025 with a BVetNurs degree and joined our team in 2026. She shares, “I love caring for animals and making a difference daily. Whether assisting in procedures, comforting a nervous patient, or supporting worried pet parents, my role is hands-on and deeply rewarding.”

Our friendly receptionist, Chantelle will always answer any of you questions or concerns. 

She is very knowledgeable in canine and feline nutrition and will be able to assist you with any of your companion’s nutritional needs. She knows the Vetland shop well and will assist here in any way possible. 

We are fortunate to have a very capable and enthusiastic support team. 

Fanie, Salamina, Taki and Solly have all been part of Vetland for more than 10 years. Together they assist our veterinarians and veterinary nurses with patients and daily tasks.
